This place is packed but the line moves quickly. On a Saturday night when the entire city seemed to be put and about, we were waiting outside for a spot, but seated at the bar area in minutes. Service was fast and friendly and then even offered English menus when they realized we weren't fluent in Spanish. We got the grilled shrimp skewers, grilled pulpo, Spanish potato omelette served with tomato bread and montadito with cured meats and cheese - manchego cheese, ham, chorizo and Iberico ham. All the dishes were excellent. A couple seated next to us informed is that they have great French toast as one of their desserts, but we were too full to try it out. Ah! Next time! Will look forward to returning here!

Three chocolate textures! And grilled cuttle fish, mini hot dog has bacon, cheese and sweet onions. The staffs were super friendly, located near the Casa Milla. We were sitting outside beside the heater, the musician was playing beautiful songs for little cash. Everything was so good. Can't find in the bay area. Can I?

Absolutely amazing!!! We found this place on a whim, down the street from another bar. We sat under the tents near a firepit. We ordered several tapas and they all tasted AMAZING. The service was fantastic. They were on point and always took away our empty dishes quickly. We ordered 7 tapas and ALL of them were amazing. The sangria was good as well. I will highly recommend this place and honestly, I hope we come back once more before we head home to the states. FYI the owner is the same for both Ciutat and Anxoita. 5 stars all around!

Ciutat Comtal was our favorite tapas spot during our trip to Spain. If you're visiting from another country, don't forget that on Spanish time, lunch is around 2-3 pm and dinner is later around 9-11 pm. There is going to be a big crowd outside waiting in line to get in, but the wait wasn't too bad. The crowd was a combination of locals and tourists. They have both Spanish and English menus, so don't be intimidated. Our waiter was great and gave us several recommendations. We liked every dish we tried! Our personal favorites were the Cabreaos style eggs (the potatoes are so crunchy and perfectly coated with runny egg and spice), prawns skewer montadito (so plump and fresh!), beef tenderloin montadito with foie (the foie gras is rich and just melts in your mouth). We also enjoyed the razor clams and Iberian ham with tomato bread. If we're ever back in Barcelona, we will definitely return here.

Had a phenomenal meal at Ciutat Comtal for the last meal of our Europe trip. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Barcelona, Ciutat Comtal is a charming tapas restaurant that effortlessly captures the essence of Spanish dining. With its casual ambiance and both indoor and outdoor seating options, this spot is perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal while people watching. The menu at Ciutat Comtal is a delightful exploration of flavors, offering a wide selection that caters to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Whether you're indulging in their fresh seafood--an absolute must-try--or sampling their variety of tapas, there's something for everyone. With both permanent menu items and daily rotating specials, each visit promises something new to discover. Standouts for us included the beef tenderloin montadito with foie (7.15€), grilled razor clams (11.20€), and the fideua noodle dish (9.25€). The latter two were offered on the daily menu, so they're not available all the time. Don't forget to save room for dessert; I'm particularly obsessed with their torrija (3.35€)--a traditional Spanish french toast that's simply divine here. The friendly staff adds to the relaxed atmosphere, making it easy to sit back and enjoy your meal. On our visit, we managed to have a fantastic dining experience for two, all for a reasonable 60 euros, which included a plethora of dishes that left us thoroughly satisfied. Overall, Ciutat Comtal is a delightful culinary destination that beautifully combines fresh ingredients, diverse offerings, and a laid-back atmosphere, making it a must-visit for anyone in Barcelona.

Ciutat Comtal was a recommendation from a friend and I had it bookmarked for our last lunch in the city. We arrived around 12:30pm on a Saturday and there was no wait. It's actually a really big space, so they sat us upstairs in a quiet corner. We had grilled razor clams, octopus Galician style, duck with apple and oporto sauce montaditos, grilled scallop and prawn montaditos, and the tenderloin and foie gras montaditos. The razor clams and the octopus were the highlights, along with the grilled scallop and prawn montaditos. I actually ended up ordering another of the scallop and prawn montaditos. The food was really, really good and I am recommending it to all my friends moving forward. If you're looking to have lunch here later than 1pm on a Saturday, be prepared to wait. By the time we left about an hour later, there was a huge line.

Tapas in Barcelona! Everything we had was so delicious. Celiac in our party had no issues; staff was very knowledgeable as to what dishes he could eat. Four of us shared 8 plates. We had the grilled red shrimp, beef with creamy potatoes, mussels, green beans, cod and eggplant chips. We sat outside enjoying people watching. Inside has a nice vibe as well.

I absolutely love this place . As as solo traveler , this is the perfect place to enjoy their delicious offerings at the bar from the tortilla espanola , grilled shrimp skewers and my ultimate favorite, foie on beef tenderloin , all paired with a small bottle of cava . Great , vibey ambiance with fast service . Yes it's a tourist spot which is to be expected as it's in that part of the town , close to shopping ( both medium and high end stores ). Though I was there alone , it's a great place to come with a group ! I wish I came with more people so I can try the other delicious dishes ( an example , another person at the bar ordered the eggplant chips which looked incredible ). Next time ...

This is a solid tapas bar near Placa de Catalunya. It shares the same owner as Cervesaria Catalana and Vinitus. My favorites are the eggplant chips, and the shrimp and asparagus tempura. The eggplant chips were crispy and had a nice sweet drizzle on top. I have never dipped shrimp tempura in romesco sauce before, but it was nice, kind of felt like it was a Japanese-Spanish fusion tapa. The torrija (Spanish French toast) was good too. Service was pretty fast. Given the number of tourists in the area, I am sure they would want to turn over the tables as soon as possible. Unlike other tapas places in touristy areas, this one gets a big thumb up from me.
